BWNJ FOUNDER & CEO

Shanique Taliaferro

Shanique Taliaferro, born June 8, 1982, in Trenton, NJ, is a committed community advocate and outreach specialist. Throughout her career, Shanique has focused on underserved communities, entrepreneurship, and women's empowerment, aiming to make a positive impact and leave a proud legacy for her family.

She initiated partnerships and fundraising efforts with nonprofits, government initiatives, and community stakeholders. Understanding the challenges faced by minorities, particularly black women in New Jersey, Shanique founded Black Women NJ in 2023. Black Women NJ serves as a platform for leveraging resources, sharing valuable information, hosting empowerment sessions, organizing social events, facilitating networking opportunities, and more.

Driven by her passion for social justice, Shanique also founded Repairers of the Breach, addressing societal disparities and aiding marginalized communities. Despite its dissolution during Covid, her commitment to charitable work remains strong.

As a business owner of her cleaning company, Shanique emphasizes good business practices, brand development, and partnership building, particularly through her women's directory network, Black Women Everywhere, and WE Mean Business sessions.

Currently, Shanique is dedicated to her personal growth and education, aiming to enhance her abilities as a respected leader and change-maker in her community.
