Meet Your Host
Shanique Taliaferro
Shanique Taliaferro is the Visionary and Founder of Black Women New Jersey (BWNJ), established in 2023. Under her leadership, BWNJ has grown to over 10,000 online members, providing a platform for leveraging resources, sharing valuable information, hosting empowerment group sessions, organizing social events, and facilitating networking opportunities.
In 2024, Shanique spearheaded the inaugural Black Women NJ Gala, "The Power of Sisterhood," aimed at providing black women a luxurious evening of fun, sophistication, and lasting memories. This gala marked a milestone for BWNJ's community engagement efforts. With Shanique's vision and the collective efforts of BWNJ members, over 100 discount-priced tickets were made available through fundraising and donations from generous members.
The gala's success has inspired Shanique and BWNJ to make this an annual celebration, envisioning its growth to eventually use its visibility and ticket sales to give back to targeted causes within the community. Through initiatives like these, Shanique continues to foster a supportive and empowering economic community focused on business sustainability and community impact.
