SHE in ECE

SHE is a free one-day summer camp that introduces girls to the world of Electrical & Computer engineering. I created this event because I previously worked with graduate students, and in 8 years, I only had one Black woman to go through the program. I was also a young girl who wanted to pursue engineering but was steered towards cosmetology. Yes, engineering is hard but we are tougher. I live by the proverb, "If you educate a man, you educate an individual. But if you educate a woman, you have educated a nation" but I add on, "If you educate a Black woman, you save the world."
