Shanique Taliaferro
Founder
Shanique Taliaferro, a lifelong resident of Trenton, NJ, is a dedicated community advocate and outreach specialist with a deep passion for underserved communities, entrepreneurship, and women’s empowerment. Her career has been driven by a heartfelt desire to make a positive impact and leave a legacy her family can be proud of. After founding Repairers of the Breach, a nonprofit organization focused on addressing societal disparities and aiding marginalized communities, Shanique was heartbroken when it had to dissolve during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, this setback only strengthened her resolve to continue her advocacy work. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by Black women, she channeled her efforts into creating BWNJ, a community designed to uplift and empower Black women in New Jersey.
Tradawn Parks
Middlesex County

Tradawn Parks is an Area Clinical Director RN and the Director of Nursing for Distinctive Living, a premier senior living management company known for its boutique communities. Currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Tradawn is committed to advancing healthcare in senior living. A dedicated community advocate, Tradawn serves on the Board of Trustees at the Court Street School Education Community Center and is passionate about uplifting and supporting other Black women. She is the Middlesex County Tribe Representative as well as a Tribe Leader for BWNJ. Through her work, she strives to foster positive change and enhance the quality of life for seniors and her community.
Cheryl Pinkney
Burlington County

Cheryl Pinckney, Burlington County Tribe Representative, is an accomplished Executive Administrator with over 20 yrs of experience in the military defense sector. A passionate advocate for women’s rights, she is dedicated to supporting victims of domestic violence through community outreach and awareness programs. In addition to her advocacy, Cheryl is the owner of CC’s Bling Spot LLC, where she showcases her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. She balances her career, business, and family life with resilience and compassion. Through her leadership and dedication, Cheryl continues to uplift and inspire those around her.
Donna Boyer-Lendor
Essex County

Donna Boyer-Lendor is a spirited Leader and a team player who goes the extra mile to ensure that tasks are completed. By attending an all girls high school, she learned the importance of sisterhood and networking at an early age. Donna balances being a dedicated wife, mother of two, a caretaker, and is also involved in community service, including being a member of the fundraising committee at her church. She is a BWNJ moderator and a Leader for the Essex County chapter of BWNJ, and has worked in Ultrasound for over 25 years. Donna is now the CEO of My First Selfie LLC, a 3D/4D Company elective mobile ultrasound business that captures babies’ first keepsake.
Tasha McCutcheon
Chapter County

Tasha McCutcheon has been a proud member of BWNJ since June 2023. She is a seasoned Human Resources professional with 20 years of experience in the field, bringing a wealth of knowledge in fostering inclusive and people-centered workplaces. Tasha holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Beyond her professional endeavors, Tasha enjoys the joy of motherhood as a proud girl mom to her brilliant daughter. She firmly believes that life is short and should be enjoyed to the fullest, embracing every moment with purpose and gratitude.
IIona Richmond
Mercer County

Ilona Richmond is a dedicated and passionate leader with 20+ years of experience as a professional in the financial industry. She is also a proud County Representative for Black Women New Jersey (BWNJ) in Mercer County, where she works tirelessly to empower and support Black women in her community. When she's not leading or serving, ILona loves spending time with her loving family, including her husband, adult daughters, and two furry dogs, who bring her endless joy and inspiration.
Teri Bass
Chapter County

Teri has been a proud member of BWNJ since April 2023, actively participating in numerous events and always enjoying the sense of community and empowerment they bring. With over 15 years of experience in higher education, she understands firsthand the transformative power of education, having used it as her pathway to success as a young Black woman from Jersey City. A devoted mother, to her 25-year-old daughter, who is expecting her first child "Nugget" in June. Her own educational journey began and flourished in Jersey City, from preschool through undergraduate studies. Currently pursuing a doctorate in Education with a focus on Higher Education, she is dedicated to ensuring that Black girls not only access engineering education but also thrive within it. Passionate about equity and opportunity, she remains committed to paving the way for future generations of Black women in STEM.
Trinae Hall

Trinae Hall is a dynamic leader and the proud CEO of TH Concept Solutions, LLC, a company specializing in innovative marketing strategies that fuel business growth. As a dedicated advocate for community empowerment, Trinae has spearheaded numerous initiatives designed to amplify voices and foster inclusion. With a proven track record in business development and a passion for collaboration, she is deeply committed to uplifting and inspiring women throughout New Jersey. Since joining Black Women New Jersey in the summer of 2023, Trinae has played an active role in community building.She is excited to serve as the BWNJ Essex County Representative, helping to connect, support, and empower Black women across the region.
Christina Elum
Chapter County

With over 20 years of experience, Christina offers a unique blend of expertise as both a real estate paralegal and a licensed New Jersey real estate agent. Specializing in both commercial and residential transactions, Christina holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Law and an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies, along with being a Notary in New Jersey. This dual career provides a comprehensive understanding of both the legal and practical aspects of real estate, allowing Christina to expertly guide clients through every step of the buying, selling, renting and investing process. Outside of work, Christina enjoys crafting, DIY projects, reading, and spending time at the beach with family and friends.
Bernice
Chapter County

Bernice is a dynamic leader, entrepreneur, and philanthropist committed to empowering women, children, and communities. With over 20 years of experience in the auto industry and a degree in business administration, she has made a lasting impact across various sectors. As the owner of Afriprintz LLC, she connects African heritage with the diaspora through authentic apparel and accessories. She is also the co-founder of Lending Hands Touching Lives, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting children in Ghana. Bernice serves as a board member of the African American Cultural Collaborative of Mercer County and represents Black Women of New Jersey as a County Representative. A devoted wife and mother of three, she is passionate about fostering connections and uplifting others.
Suzette Brathwaite
Ocean County

Suzette is full of curiosity and a life long learner. Her background expands several career paths with one common thread, service to others. She spent over a decade in the automotive field, followed by real estate and settling on nursing. She is currently a Corporate Clinical Procurement Director and distributor of health and wellness products. Suzette’s motto as a mother, wife, daughter, sibling and friend is a borrowed quote “I’m a black woman in America, superheroes have nothing on me.” Suzette is proud to be a BWNJ Ocean County Tribe leader and County Representative.
Latasha Byrom
Somerset County

Latasha Byrom is a passionate advocate for children and youth, with over 10 years of experience in early childhood education. She holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology and an Associate’s in Education and currently serves as the Director of Childcare and Youth Programs at a nonprofit. As the Black Women NJ Somerset County Representative, she is committed to uplifting women and building strong community connections. An entrepreneur at heart, she also runs a Paparazzi Accessories business, believing that confidence fuels success. A devoted wife and mother of five, she thrives on organization, structure, and purpose-driven work. Rooted in faith, family, and service, she encourages others to live joyfully and embrace every moment.
Natalia Thornes

Natalia Thornes, Atlantic County Tribe Representative, is a dedicated child & family advocate hailing from New Jersey. With a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Double Masters in Psychological Studies and Mental Health Counseling, Natalia has committed her life to supporting and nurturing the mental well-being of children. Natalia's passion for child advocacy extends beyond her professional life, striving to create safer and more supportive environments for children within her community. Her life's work is a testament to her dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of children and their families.
Latisha Bradley
Atlantic County

Latisha is truly passionate about community development and amplifying the voices of women through collective resilience. She offers a wealth of knowledge and expertise; she has over 19 years of experience in the substance addiction sector and holds a Master's degree in Human Services with a focus in Leadership and Management. Latisha is committed to empowering women and supporting others is the driving force behind her work and mission to effect positive, enduring change. In addition, Latisha serves as an Asst. Youth Director of FBC Rock Youth Ministry and is passionate about cultivating the lives of youth in her community. Ultimately, her work reflects a deep-seated belief that investing in the youth today will lead to a brighter, more vibrant community. Latisha is excited to serve as Black Women New Jersey Atlantic County Representative.

Shontei Hampton is dedicated to empowering women and families through healing, self-care, and community advocacy. Her mission is to create space for growth, transformation, and sustainable change, ensuring that families thrive despite the challenges they face. As the BWNJ Monmouth County Representative, she stands for active healing, collective strength, and the power of long-term support. Now more than ever, Shontei believes that spiritual awakening and true self-care are essential to building a stronger future
Chiquita Barnes
Bergen County

Chiquita Barnes is a Bergen County Tribe Representative and a dedicated entrepreneur with a strong background in Human Resources, Community Liaison, and Organizational Management. She is the franchise owner of Pinspiration Englewood, a creative space that fosters artistic expression and community collaboration. Passionate about volunteerism and uplifting others, she is deeply committed to strengthening connections and supporting local initiatives. As a Black Women NJ representative, she empowers and uplifts fellow tribe sisters, celebrating their achievements and fostering growth. Through her work, she continues to bridge creativity, culture, and community impact.
ChiQuita Singletary
Sussex County

ChiQuita Singletary, Sussex County Tribe Sister and Representative, has 26+ years in the telecommunications industry, and has risen to the rank of Senior Experience Manger. She is a forward thinker, and enjoys solutioning issues that have yet to arise. ChiQuita is an active member of a church in Paterson, where she serves as a deacon, leader of the praise dance ministry and Women's Ministry team leader. Since joining BWNJ, ChiQuita has utilized her leadership skills to network with and uplift black women across the state.
