Statewide Community Cleanup Initiative

This April, we are bringing people from across the state of New Jersey together for a Statewide Day of Service and Community Cleanup.

Black Women New Jersey is proud to partner with Black New Jersey, along with community organizations, sororities, and local partners to make this a true community-wide effort.

We are inviting women, men, families, and supporters from across the state to join us as we come together to help clean, beautify, and uplift the City of Newark.

Bringing New Jersey together to serve Newark.

We are calling on all hands on deck to help make this day impactful.

If your organization, business, or community group would like to participate and have your logo included on the official event flyer, please reach out and let us know.

We’ve also created a special planning group for those who want to stay involved in organizing the event. If you’d like to be added, just let us know and we’ll send you the link.

Ways You Can Help

If you are unable to attend in person, there are still many ways to support this initiative:

• Donate cleanup supplies (trash bags, gloves, grabbers, brooms, etc.)

• Sponsor bottled water or snacks for volunteers

• Donate community care items or hygiene kits

• Help spread the word and invite others to participate

• Organize a “Clean Your Block” effort in your own neighborhood

• Connect us with organizations that may want to volunteer

Our goal is to make this a true statewide effort, bringing people together to serve and support the Newark community.

As communities continue to acknowledge the work of Black Women New Jersey and we build relationships with towns across the state, we hope to bring Days of Service like this to other communities as well. This is just the beginning, and we look forward to showing up and giving back throughout New Jersey.
