🎁 BWNJ Essex County Gathering — White Elephant Event 🎁

✨ Our first BWNJ gathering of 2026! ✨

Since that time, Black Women New Jersey (BWNJ) is coming together for the first time in 2026 in Essex County, and it’s time to reconnect, laugh, and enjoy sisterhood.

This gathering will be a White Elephant Gift Exchange, filled with fun, music, dancing, laughter, and community.

🎁 White Elephant Gift Details

• Each attendee should bring one wrapped gift

• Minimum value: $25

• Maximum value: $25

• Please bring a gift you would actually want to receive

• Instructions on how to play will be shared at the event

🍽️ Potluck Details

This will be a potluck-style gathering.

• Everyone is asked to bring a dish

• Catered dishes are preferred

• If you plan to cook, please let us know in advance

Before we finalize desserts, we want to be sure we have strong main course options. Suggested dishes include:

Main Courses / Savory Options

• Baked or grilled chicken

• Fish (salmon, tilapia, or whiting)

• Pasta dishes (with or without meat)

• Sandwich trays or wraps

• Appetizers (sliders, meatballs, egg rolls, etc.)

Healthy & Light Options

• Green or Caesar salads

• Mediterranean or protein-based salads

• Vegetable trays

• Cheese or charcuterie boards

• Fruit trays

Once main courses are confirmed, we’ll then sign off on desserts.

💵 Cover Charge

• $15 cover charge

• Covers the venue/space

• Any additional funds will go toward overhead to ensure a beautiful and special event
